By Marcus Whale & Athena Thebus
An ongoing series of performances in collaboration with Athena reimagining the fallen angel Lucifer as a queer icon. Drawing upon mythologies that figure Lucifer as God’s brightest and most beautiful archangel, this performance portrays Lucifer as a guiding light for the forsaken. In the work, I sing arrangements of the song “Lucifer”, wearing a costume created out of imagery of decaying concrete and a circle of mould on the kitchen ceiling of the sharehouse where Athena and I live.
